Facial hair is an issue to some degree for everyone. Of course it is a bigger deal for some than others. You have at least one errant hair, though, no matter who you are. It is just a fact of life.

But it you are like me, then plucking drives you insane. I can’t see the mirror I am crying so hard! But I’m intimidated by facial hair creams. The only result I got from them in high school was a huge blister on my upper lip. Honestly I probably would have rather had the girlstache…

Thank goodness hair removal creams have changed since high school They used to be terribly smelling and full of harsh chemicals. Now you practically get an aromatherapy session when you use one. Of course, you still need to be careful.

Make sure that you get good facial hair removal results by using these tips:

1. Do a test first. Before you smear it on your face, try it on your wrist. Burning or breakouts on your wrist will let you know whether it will be okay for your face. A small dab should be enough to test with.

2. Look for herbal ingredients. To “melt” hair away, you need chemicals. Herbal extracts can help your skin recover when it has been treated with these chemicals. There is less likelihood of a breakout if you use facial hair removal products that contain heavy moisturizers and natural ingredients.

3. Pick something scented. You probably clearly remember the stench of that stinky cream that people used to remove leg hair. That smell was definitely chemically based. Today’s creams contain ingredients to mask or eliminate these smells. Many people need the scent to avoid allergic reactions to the chemical smells. Opt for the scent unless you cannot handle any type of artificial fragrance.

4. Work in sections. Take it slow with putting the cream on your face. Always start out with the eyebrow area. It is not nearly as sensitive as the upper lip area. If you have no trouble with your brows, then you can start on your lip or chin area.
