SUMMER 2009 MAKEUP TRENDS

Many of us become more active in the summer months, here are a few of trends to try this summer that will simplify your routine and help you look fresh in only a few minutes.  The proper makeup is a great accessory to any fashion style.

Trend 1: Tinted Moisturizer. Tinted moisturizers are work for almost any skin type. The average wearer will get enough coverage, while the more mature skin will get the hydration it needs. Tinted moisturizer will not melt and run down your face as the temperatures rise. Tinted moisturizers might not get you enough control or the coverage needed if you have an oilier skin type. Oilier skin types should use lighter powder foundations in the summer months.

Trend 2: Blush. This summer the trend is blush is colorful and sheer. You want to have a fresh, active look. Choose more subtle colors such as roses and soft pinks. Instead of focusing on the apples of the cheeks, apply blush at the temple sweeping upward into the hairline. This will give your face a more youthful appearance and was seen on the spring and summer 2009 runways.  A must for those summer parties and evenings out with friends showing off your great summer fashion!

Trend 3: Lip Color. Lips for summer 2009 should look hydrated with subtle color and shine. Lip gloss is back in fashion, but should be applied lightly.

Trend 4: Eye Makeup. Probably the most fun aspect of the summer 2009 trends is eye makeup. The choice this season for eye makeup is bold, bright, and colorful. The run way showed bold teals, sexy violets and chic greens.

The key for the average woman to follow this trend is to remember that a little bit goes a long way. Avoid using multitudes of colors as this can cause a rainbow effect. Choose one color and use it as an accent to a more neutral eye, or sweep it lightly over your lower lid.  A great look can be had even with a discount fashion budget if the right colors are used.

Trend 5: Eyebrows. Artificial looking brows are out, the natural shaped brow is back in full force. Be sure to not fill them in too much or they will start competing with the colorful eye makeup.

The overall makeup trends for summer 2009 are more carefree and lighthearted. Bright colors and fresh textures are sheer and healthy looking. Make sure you have fun and keep a playful attitude. Your routine for summer makeup should not take more than 10 minutes total.
