reduce stretch marks

The vast majority of people, including myself, have undergone rapid periods of growth in life. This may be from puberty, pregnancy or any other time when quick growth occurs, the outcome is having to suffer from stretch marks. Having worked as a beauty therapist for most of my life, I always seemed to be asked how to remove stretchmarks.

That’s a little bit like asking how long a piece of string is, so I usually respond “it depends”. First of all, everybody is different and everybody will see different results. It often therefore depends on your own skins chemistry to as to the long term benefits of the differing techniques. What may be a fantastic cure for one person may have no effect at all on someone else. Furthermore, not everyone’s budgets are the same and there are big differences in cost-benefits between treatments.

Secondly, it depends on the type of stretch mark being treated. Pregnancy stretch marks for example, tend to have different characteristics as generally they involve fleshy parts of the body. This compares to marks on the neck and arms which tend to be the result of muscle growth in parts of the body with low fat content. As a result, different treatments produce different results.

It is vital that you do your research before choosing a treatment type. More often than not, people start out treating their stretch marks by using a stretch mark lotion. As with everything involved in beauty treatment, these differ massively in both their cost and effectiveness.

Even good lotions/creams can be boosted massively by using simple products such as a Derma Roller which give topically applied fluids, a far greater chance of being absorbed and their active ingredients working. In fact, this type of treatment is found to consistently outperform other treatment types across the board and in the past few years has become continually growing in demand.

It is important to consult a dermatologist, your own GP or a trained beauty consultant before beginning any treatment type. Getting the facts beforehand is vital in so that you can choose wisely
