stretch marks

Most of us, at some point of our lives have, undergone rapid periods of growth in life. Whether through pregnancy, puberty or any other type of speedy weight gain, the outcome is having to deal with stretch marks. Having worked as a beauty therapist for much of my life, it is not uncommon for me to be asked how to remove stretchmarks.

I don’t like to stick my head too far out on these type of issues, so I usually respond “it depends”. The first thing to bare in mind is everybody is different and everybody will see different results. It often therefore depends on your personal circumstances to as to the long term benefits of the differing techniques. What may be a fantastic cure for one person may have no effect at all on someone else. Furthermore, not everyone’s budgets are the same and there are big differences in cost-benefits between treatments.

Secondly, it depends on the type of stretch mark being treated. Pregnancy stretch marks for example, tend to have unique characteristics as generally they involve fleshy parts of the skin. This compares to marks on the arms and neck which tend to be the result of muscle growth in parts of the body with low fat content. As a result, different treatments have different results.

It is very important that you do your research before choosing a treatment type. It is very common for people to start out treating their stretch marks by using one of the stretchmark creams available. As with everything involved in beauty treatment, these differ massively in both price and effectiveness.

Even good lotions/creams can be made to work far more effectively by using simple products such as a Derma Roller which give topically applied fluids, a far greater chance of being absorbed and their active ingredients working. In fact, this type of treatment tends to consistently outrank other treatment types across the board and in the past few years has become continually growing in demand.

Please remember to consult a trained medical professional or a trained beauty consultant before going ahead with a treatment type. Making sure you know all facts beforehand is vital in making the correct choices.
